For Cyclists and Runners
Because it develops core strength and balance, yoga is a great cross training workout for cyclists and runners, but it does much more than that. Yoga is especially helpful because cyclists and runners tend to develop strong (and therefore, tight) quadriceps and hamstrings, which often pull their hips out of alignment.
This class is designed especially for bikers and runners and will feature a sequence that stretches the major muscle groups used while cycling and running: the calves, quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and hips.
In addition, we will explore poses that ease the tension in the shoulders and upper back that cyclists often experience as the result of spending so much time bent forward over the handlebars. Finally, yoga keeps you focused on a deep and steady breath, which leads to greater focus and concentration, as well as greater control over the breath.
The class will be taught by Stephen Black, a 500 hour certified yoga teacher with over 3,000 hours of teaching experience.
The workshop will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday. The cost is $15.00 per person.
